Our cardamom essential oil is produced using carefully selected cardamom pods grown across plantations in the Idukki district of Kerala State in Southern India. Bringing scientific evidence of the natural anti-inflammatory effect of cardamom bioactive was our first task at Recovereez®. This was achieved through systematic preclinical and clinical studies, which enabled us to obtain a patent for our formulation. We now offer Recovereez® in various formats, allowing customers to use it "as it is" or blend it with other supplements for better results in specific conditions.
A New Approach:
Reverse Traceability and Integrating Internet of Things
Currently, it is not practical to trace the farm-sourced materials for cardamom in India, as most growers sell their products through e-auction. Contract farming in cardamom by major procurement companies is not a common practice. Essential oil manufacturers source cardamom from the e-auctions and offer their final products.
At Elakayre, we are making every effort to pilot a blockchain integration with the Internet of Things by adopting intelligent practices in cardamom cultivation on our own plantation. This is an effort to introduce plantation site traceability, even to the level of monitoring fertigation and pesticide management. Elakayre Farm Labs and its team then intend to perfect this model in the coming years and hope to bring a scalable model with this effort.

Uniquely, our focus is directed towards small cardamom, and we employ sustainable methods for drying, processing, and extracting essential oils. Additionally, we enhance the value of these oils by creating products in the cardamom nutraceutical segment. Furthermore, to ensure the effectiveness of the final product, we conduct scientifically conducted clinical trials.

Cardamom cultivation is a labor-intensive process that occurs almost year-round. Skilled labor is necessary for the crucial step of hand-picking select pods from each plant every 40 days. After harvest, the finished dried cardamom often only weighs 18-20% of the weight of the harvested cardamom. Mechanization is not feasible in cardamom plantations, and innovation challenges mainly focus on automating fertigation and irrigation.
